Pork Sausage Roll

If you have never met one: a British sausage roll is seasoned pork sausage meat wrapped in pastry and baked until the outside is crisp and golden. It is eaten hot from the counter at eleven in the morning, cold from the fridge at eleven at night, and at every football match, funeral and christening in between. Ours starts with free-range pork from Oulton's in Windsor, Nova Scotia, seasoned our way and wrapped in pastry we make from scratch. It is the thing we sell more of than anything else in the shop, and the bakers love it, because they can make hundreds in one batch. Sold one at a time, though it rarely stays at one. Made from scratch in our Halifax bakery, seven days a week. Free-range meat from Oulton's in Windsor, Nova Scotia; local and Canadian ingredients wherever we can get them.
