British Green’s in Canada

Some of the most comforting British food starts with a packet and a mixing bowl, and that is exactly what this collection covers. Green’s makes the kind of baking mixes that turn up in British cupboards for Sunday dinners, rainy afternoons and the moment someone remembers there is cream in the fridge that needs a scone to go with it. Here you will find Green’s Classic Scone Mix, Batter/Yorkshire Pudding Mix, Vanilla Sponge Mix, Chocolate Sponge Mix, Dumpling Mix, Golden Crumble and Golden Syrup Pancake Mix, all shipped from Canada by The Great British Shop. Whether you are recreating a proper roast in Halifax, making a pudding for a Toronto dinner party, or sending a taste of home to someone in Vancouver, this page keeps the Green’s range in one place.

Roast dinners, stews and the bits that make them

A roast is not quite right without Yorkshire puddings, and Green’s Batter/Yorkshire Pudding Mix is there for anyone who wants them on the table without fuss. The same batter mix is handy for toad in the hole or a weekend batch of pancakes. Green’s Dumpling Mix does the job for winter stews and casseroles, the sort of meal that suits a Canadian January rather well. These are the packets worth keeping in the cupboard for the evenings when only proper British comfort food will do.

Scones, sponges, crumble and pancakes

The sweeter side of the collection covers most of the British baking basics. Green’s Classic Scone Mix is the obvious choice for a cream tea, with jam and cream in whichever order starts the least arguments in your house. The Vanilla Sponge Mix and Chocolate Sponge Mix are good for birthday cakes, Victoria sponges and traybakes, while Green’s Golden Crumble makes light work of an apple or rhubarb crumble with custard on the side. The Golden Syrup Pancake Mix rounds things off for a slower breakfast or a Pancake Day that feels a bit more like home.
