Jacob's Savours Assortment - 250g

In Britain, crackers and cheese are not a fancy course. They are what happens after dinner when nobody wants pudding but nobody wants to leave the table either. Jacob's has been part of that for generations, and its name on the box tells you exactly what you are getting.

People in Canada search for this one because they know the box. They know the snap, the way a cracker holds a slab of cheese without folding, the little ritual of picking out your favourite before someone else does. Finding Jacob's here means the cheese board finally looks right.

The 250g box is an assortment, so one box covers a cheese board for a few people, or one person over a quiet week. It keeps happily in the cupboard; just fold the inner packet over once it is open so the crackers stay crisp. Cheese, pâté, a spoon of chutney, or straight from the box standing at the counter: all fair.

Jacob's is best known in Britain for the cream cracker, and the savoury side of its range runs well beyond it. With this box, people tend to add a jar of pickle or chutney and a block of proper Cheddar, and call it supper.
