Celebrations puts eight famous bars in a 500g tub, made small: Mars, Snickers, Twix, Bounty, Galaxy, Galaxy Caramel, Milky Way and the Maltesers Teaser. Fifty-one of them, every one wrapped.

Celebrations was the first tub of its kind and it is still the one people picture when you say Christmas tub. Mars did not invent new sweets for it. It took the bars everybody already bought from the corner shop, shrank them, wrapped them and let them loose. The result is a tub that needs no explaining to anybody who grew up in Britain and very little to anybody else.

Inside the 500g tub, 51 bars across eight kinds: the Maltesers Teaser, malty honeycomb pieces in milk chocolate and the red wrapper that goes first. Galaxy, the smooth one, and Galaxy Caramel, the smooth one with a soft middle. Mars, nougat and caramel, the oldest bar in the tub. Snickers, with the peanuts, which used to be called Marathon over here and some people have never forgiven. Twix, the biscuit one. Bounty, the coconut one, which has the most loyal fans in the tub and knows it. And Milky Way, the light whipped nougat one, which goes to the youngest person in the room.

This is the UK tub, made by Mars for Britain and brought over sealed. It matters more than you would think: the Galaxy in here is the chocolate Canada sells as Dove, and the Mars bar is the British one, which is not quite the same bar you get here. If you have ever had a Canadian friend bite into a British Mars and go quiet, you know.

We sell it from our shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and we post it anywhere in Canada. Buy one sealed, exactly as it left the shelf, or buy two or more and let us pack them for the post: the empty tubs nested inside each other, every wrapped bar packed in around them, one box. You tip them back in at home and nobody is any the wiser.

We open the tubs, nest the empty tubs together, and pack the individually wrapped chocolates around them in the same shipping box. All tubs and lids are included. When your order arrives, simply pop the wrapped chocolates back into the tubs.

How many chocolates are in a 500g tub of Celebrations?

51. Mars prints it on the pack, which is more than the other three manage. Eight kinds, and the pack does not promise an even share of each.

Does Celebrations contain nuts?

Yes. Snickers has peanuts, so peanuts are in the ingredients, and the pack says it may contain almonds, hazelnuts and oats. The Twix has wheat flour, so it is not gluten-free either.

Is the Galaxy in the tub the same as Dove?

This tub contains UK Galaxy chocolate. We do not claim that its recipe is identical to Dove products sold in other markets.

Will my chocolates arrive unwrapped?

No. Every chocolate stays in its own wrapper, exactly as it came out of the tub. Packed for the post means we open the tubs, nest the empty tubs inside each other and pack the wrapped chocolates in around them so they fill the gaps. You tip them back into the tubs at home.

Do I still get the tubs and lids?

Yes. Every tub and every lid comes with your order, nested inside each other. The only thing that changes is how much air we post across Canada.

Can I mix different tubs?

Yes. Celebrations, Cadbury Heroes and Cadbury Roses nest, so mix them however you like: two, three or more. Quality Street's tub is a different shape, so it packs only with other Quality Street tubs: two, three or four together.

Why is the sealed option more expensive?

Sealed tubs take up more room. Opened and nested packing reduces the space used by the empty tubs. See the purchase options above for prices; shipping is calculated at checkout.

Is this the UK tub?

Yes. The same tub that sits on a British supermarket shelf, imported sealed and sold from our shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Not a Canadian or American version.

How long does it keep?

Check the best-before date printed on your tub. Store it in a cool, dry place away from heat.

Is it suitable for vegetarians?

Yes, all four tubs say suitable for vegetarians on the pack. None of them is vegan; they all contain milk.

The story of Celebrations

Mars launched Celebrations in 1997, bringing familiar chocolate brands together in miniature. The appeal is easy to see: the red tub lets you choose a small version of a bar you already know, then pass the rest around.

The 500g selection brings together Mars, Snickers, Twix, Bounty, Galaxy, Galaxy Caramel, Milky Way and Maltesers Teasers. Biscuit, coconut, peanuts, caramel and nougat give the assortment its variety. Your favourite need not be the same as anyone else’s.

In 2022, Mars announced a limited No Bounty trial with Tesco. That was a special run of tubs, not a permanent removal followed by a nationwide reversal. Bounty is included in the selection offered here.

We import the UK tub and sell it from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Choose sealed tubs, or mix Celebrations with Heroes and Roses for opened and nested packing. The bars remain individually wrapped, and every tub and lid comes with the order.
