About Cadbury Roses Tub

The blue tub to say thank you with. Caramels, cremes and chocolate favourites to pass around.

Roses puts nine Cadbury chocolates in a 475g sharing tub: caramels, a truffle, fudge, a strawberry, an orange, two hazelnuts and a chunk of Dairy Milk. Every one wrapped on its own.

Read more about the Cadbury Roses tub

Roses is the thank-you tub. It is what you bring the neighbour who took the parcel in, what gets handed round at the office on the last day, what sits on the side at Christmas looking like it has always been there. It has been doing that job since 1938, and the wrappers still rustle the same.

Inside the 475g tub, nine kinds: the Hazel Caramel, a whole hazelnut in caramel in milk chocolate, the purple one everybody goes for. The Hazel Whirl, a roasted hazelnut under a swirl of chocolate. The Golden Barrel, soft caramel in a little barrel. The Chewy Caramel, the one that lasts. The Signature Truffle, the soft-centred newcomer. Country Fudge, which does what it says. Dreamy Strawberry and Creamy Orange, the two cremes, each with their own supporters. And a chunk of Cadbury Dairy Milk for the person who wanted that all along.

This is the UK tub, Cadbury chocolate made for Britain and brought over sealed. It is not the Cadbury in a Canadian supermarket, and Roses do not come here at all unless somebody puts them in a suitcase. We put them in a box instead.

We sell it from our shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and we post it anywhere in Canada. Buy one sealed, exactly as it left the shelf, or buy two or more and let us pack them for the post: the empty tubs nested inside each other, every wrapped chocolate packed in around them, one box. You tip them back in at home and say thank you with it like always.

Good questions

Before you pop
the kettle on.

Why are they called Roses?

Two stories. The traditional one is the Rose Brothers of Gainsborough, who made the machines that wrapped the sweets. The one Cadbury printed on the tub in 2020 is Dorothy Cadbury, a director and botanist, and the roses she grew in the Bournville gardens. The tub still says inspired by the gardens of Bournville.

Does Roses contain nuts?

Yes. The Hazel Whirl and the Hazel Caramel are hazelnut chocolates, hazelnuts are in the ingredients, and the pack says it may contain other nuts.

Is this the Cadbury from the UK?

Yes. This is the UK Cadbury Heroes tub, imported for our shop in Canada.

Will my chocolates arrive unwrapped?

No. Every chocolate stays in its own wrapper, exactly as it came out of the tub. Packed for the post means we open the tubs, nest the empty tubs inside each other and pack the wrapped chocolates in around them so they fill the gaps. You tip them back into the tubs at home.

Do I still get the tubs and lids?

Yes. Every tub and every lid comes with your order, nested inside each other. The only thing that changes is how much air we post across Canada.

Can I mix different tubs?

Yes. Celebrations, Cadbury Heroes and Cadbury Roses nest, so mix them however you like: two, three or more. Quality Street's tub is a different shape, so it packs only with other Quality Street tubs: two, three or four together.

Why is the sealed option more expensive?

Sealed tubs take up more room. Opened and nested packing reduces the space used by the empty tubs. See the purchase options above for prices; shipping is calculated at checkout.

Is this the UK tub?

Yes. The same tub that sits on a British supermarket shelf, imported sealed and sold from our shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Not a Canadian or American version.

How long does it keep?

Check the best-before date printed on your tub. Store it in a cool, dry place away from heat.

Is it suitable for vegetarians?

Yes, all four tubs say suitable for vegetarians on the pack. None of them is vegan; they all contain milk.

The story of Cadbury Roses

By Aaron A.

Roses is a tub made for giving: a thank-you for a favour, something to bring when you visit, or chocolates to put out after dinner. Cadbury’s own description puts the assortment at the centre of that gesture, with creams, truffles, caramels and chocolate chunks to share.

The chocolate behind it has a longer story. Dairy Milk launched in 1905, part of the Cadbury history that began with John Cadbury’s Birmingham shop in 1824. Roses brings that familiar name into a selection where the centre matters as much as the chocolate around it.

This 475g tub has nine varieties. Hazel Caramel and Hazel Whirl sit alongside Golden Barrel, Chewy Caramel, Signature Truffle, Country Fudge, Dreamy Strawberry, Creamy Orange and Dairy Milk. Some people choose by the centre; others recognise the wrapper before they read it.

We bring the UK tub to our shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for customers across Canada. Keep it sealed for a gift, or choose opened and nested packing with Heroes and Celebrations. The individually wrapped chocolates, empty tubs and lids all arrive together.
