Swizzels Sweet Shop Favourites - 375g

Swizzels belong to the pocket-money end of British food: sweets bought with loose change on the walk home from school, swapped at break time, and finished well before tea. Nobody ever called them sophisticated, and nobody ever wanted them to be.

In Canada, this is what people go looking for after a conversation that starts with "do you remember". One name leads to another, somebody mentions the sherbet, and suddenly you need the lot, not just the one.

It is a 375g mixed pack, so there is enough to share and enough to quietly keep back. Keep it sealed in a cool, dry cupboard and it will sit there happily until someone finds it, which is never long. People tip it into party bags, put it out at birthdays, or keep it in a desk drawer for a bad afternoon.

If one of these sets you off, the rest of the Swizzels range, from Parma Violets to Refreshers, is worth a look. It also sits very comfortably next to a bag of British crisps, a pot of proper tea and a film you have seen eleven times.
