Rowntree's Randoms Festives - 130g

Randoms sit in the jelly sweet aisle of every British corner shop, between the Fruit Pastilles and the Jelly Tots. They are the bag people buy for the car, the cinema and the long afternoon in front of the telly.

Here in Canada, people go looking for them because the shapes are half the fun, and nothing else in the sweet aisle at home quite does that same game of guessing what you will pull out next. At Christmas the festive pouch is the one people remember seeing in the shops back home.

The pouch is resealable in the loosest sense: you fold the top over and promise to come back later. Kept somewhere cool and dry in the cupboard, it stays ready for the next raid. It slips into a stocking without anyone noticing the shape, and it fits on the arm of the sofa during the Christmas film.

Rowntree's makes a whole family of British sweets, and people tend to pick up a few together: Fruit Pastilles, Fruit Gums and Jelly Tots all sit very comfortably next to a bag of Randoms in a box of British Christmas food.
