Rowntree's Jelly Tots Tropical Pouch - 140g

Jelly Tots belong to the corner-shop end of British sweets: the bag bought with pocket money, shared on the walk home and finished long before tea. They sit in the same family as Fruit Pastilles and Fruit Gums, the Rowntree's sweets most British kitchens have had in a drawer at some point.

People in Canada go looking for them because the shape is the memory. Those little domes are hard to mistake for anything else, and one handful takes you straight back to a car journey with a sibling counting how many you had.

This is a 140g pouch, a good size for sharing and a dangerous size for not sharing. It sits happily in a cool, dry cupboard, if it gets the chance. People keep a bag for long drives, film nights and lunchboxes, or for bribing small people out of the house.

If the tropical bag goes down well, the rest of the Rowntree's line is the natural next stop: Fruit Pastilles for the slow chewers, Randoms for the ones who like a surprise, and the original Jelly Tots for purists.
