M&M's Minis Small Egg - 97g

In Britain, the Easter eggs appear in the supermarket roughly five minutes after the pancakes are cleared away, and the small eggs do the heavy lifting. They are the ones bought by the handful for hunts, baskets and the odd bribe to get everyone into the car for the family lunch.

Easter in Canada has plenty of chocolate of its own. But if your Easters were spent peeling the foil off a British egg, the egg itself is part of the memory, and that is the one people come looking for when the date rolls round.

It is a small 97g egg, so it hides easily in a garden, on a bookshelf or in a lunchbox, and it is light enough to tuck into a parcel. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, away from radiators and sunny windowsills, and it will wait patiently until Sunday. Probably.

Most people do not stop at one. It goes into the basket alongside other British Easter eggs, with a bag or two of M&M's for the ones who would rather skip straight past the shell.
