Fox's Crunch Salted Caramel - 200g

Fox's is one of those names every British biscuit aisle is built around. It sits on the shelf where people reach without looking, somewhere between the digestives and the custard creams, and it has been ending up next to cups of tea for longer than most of us have been drinking them.

People in Canada search for it because a biscuit is never only a biscuit. It is the plate on the arm of the sofa, the one with your nan's tea, the packet opened at work that was empty by eleven. The salted caramel one is for anyone who liked that, and wanted it a bit more grown up.

It comes in a 200g packet that lives happily in the cupboard. Fold the end over or tip them into a tin and they keep their crunch. They go with a brew, after dinner, or straight from the packet standing at the counter, which is how most of them get eaten.

The wider Fox's family runs from Crunch Creams to Rocky bars, and they all end up in the same tin eventually. Most people pick up a box of proper teabags at the same time, which is the right instinct.
