In Britain the Creme Egg is the calendar. It turns up in the corner shop long before the daffodils do, and the Minis sit right next to the full-size ones, tempting anyone who thinks a smaller egg counts as restraint.

So when Easter comes round in Canada, people who grew up with them go looking. It is the Cadbury they remember, the one from the paper shop on the way home from school, and Easter does not quite feel like Easter until one has been unwrapped and argued over.
