Cadbury Bournville Mint - 100g

Bournville has been Cadbury's plain chocolate for as long as most of us can remember, the one on the sweet shop shelf for people who found milk chocolate a bit too cheerful. Dark chocolate and mint is a pairing Britain takes seriously, usually after a meal, usually with a pot of tea nearby.

People in Canada go looking for it by name because they want that exact bar, the one from the corner shop at home. Not dark chocolate in general. This one, with the Cadbury name on the front and the taste they grew up with.

It comes as a 100g bar that snaps into squares, so it is easy to ration (in theory). Keep it somewhere cool and dry, out of the sun, because a warm kitchen will soften it. A square with a cup of tea is the classic, and some people grate it over ice cream when nobody is watching.

Cadbury makes a long list of bars, from Dairy Milk to Fruit and Nut, and Bournville Mint often ends up in the basket next to a Dairy Milk for whoever in the house insists on milk chocolate. A box of British tea tends to join them.
