Bonds Turkish Delight - 215g

Turkish delight lives in the old-fashioned corner of the British sweet shop, near the jars on the top shelf. It is what grandparents bought, and what children were allowed once they promised not to make a mess. They made a mess.

Move away and it is oddly hard to stop thinking about. It was never an everyday sweet, which is exactly why the craving sneaks up on you, usually on a quiet afternoon with a cup of tea and nothing decent to go with it.

The 215g pack is plenty to share, in theory. Keep it closed and somewhere cool and dry between raids and it will wait patiently until someone finds it. Most people put it out with tea, after a meal, or on a plate when people come round and pretend not to want any.

Whoever reaches for Turkish delight is usually filling a basket with the rest of the old favourites too: a bag of boiled sweets, a bar of something from home, a box of proper tea. Bonds sits very comfortably among that lot.
