Swizzels Matlow Drumstick Squashies Carton - 280g

Squashies sit right in the middle of the British sweet shop: the soft, chewy bit of the pick and mix that kids fought over and adults still quietly buy for themselves. The Drumstick version borrows its name from one of the most famous lollies Swizzels ever made, so it carries a fair bit of childhood with it.

People in Canada go looking for these because the taste is very particular, and once you know it, nothing else scratches that itch. Usually the search starts after someone mentions the corner shop back home and the conversation will not let it go.

The 280g carton is the sharing size, built for film nights, long car journeys and the desk drawer that colleagues somehow always find. Keep it closed, somewhere cool and dry, and the sweets stay soft in the cupboard. Whether they last long enough to test that is another matter.

Swizzels is the name behind plenty of British sweet shop regulars, including Love Hearts, Parma Violets and Refreshers. Put a few of those next to the carton and you have a proper sweet shop afternoon on the coffee table.
