Haribo Elf Surprises Sweet Or Sour Tube - 120g

Haribo sits right at the heart of British sweets. It is the bag at every birthday party, the first stop at the pick and mix, and the thing a dad claims is for the kids and then quietly finishes himself.

In Canada, people go looking for it when they want a UK Christmas to taste right. A stocking with the sweets you had as a child does more for homesickness than any amount of carols, and the elf version only turns up at this time of year.

It comes in a 120g tube, sturdy enough to survive a stocking and slim enough to fit alongside the satsuma at the bottom. It keeps happily in the cupboard until Christmas Eve, assuming you hide it better than last year. It also makes a tidy Secret Santa gift or a little extra for a card to someone who misses home.

People tend to buy it alongside the rest of the British Christmas food: a UK selection box, a tin of chocolates for after dinner, and crackers that snap properly. Between them, that is most of Christmas morning sorted.
