Beech's Merry Christmas Continental Selection - 90g

A British Christmas has a pecking order for chocolate. The selection box is for the children on Christmas morning, and the big tin goes round the sofa after dinner. Then there is the proper box from a proper chocolate maker, the one you bring when you are visiting. Beech's sits firmly in that last camp.

People in Canada go looking for it because Christmas a long way from home is mostly fine until you notice the small things missing. A box like this is one of them. It also makes a tidy Christmas gift for someone who misses home and claims they do not.

At 90g it is a modest box, so it slips into a stocking, a parcel or a coat pocket on the way to a party. Keep it somewhere cool and well away from the radiator, and keep it away from whoever in your house "just has one".

Beech's is best known in Britain for chocolate creams, the old-fashioned rose, violet and peppermint sort your nan kept for visitors. This box tends to go into the basket with the rest of the British Christmas food: the pudding, the mince pies and the crackers.
