marks-and-spencer-8-snowballs-164g
M&S 8 Snowballs - 164g

M&S Snowballs are the kind of thing that appear on a plate in late November and disappear before anyone has quite decided whether they are a biscuit or a confection. The answer, for what it is worth, is that they are very much a biscuit, and a seasonal British one at that.

Each pack contains eight Snowballs from Marks and Spencer, the soft, rounded mallow-centred biscuits coated in a layer of coconut that gives them their name. At 164g for eight, this is a pack sized for sharing, though experience suggests the sharing is often theoretical. They are a fixture of the M&S festive range and the sort of thing that turns up in a tin at someone's parents' house and quietly vanishes.

For British expats in Canada, M&S seasonal biscuits are one of those things that are genuinely hard to replicate or substitute. The Great British Shop imports them from the United Kingdom so you are not left hoping a family member remembers to pack them, or refreshing a shipping tracker from overseas for three weeks.

If you have bought these before, you already know what you are getting. If you have not, the combination of soft mallow, a biscuit base and a coconut coating is a very specific British thing that has been turning up on festive tables for decades, and it is not something that needs much further explanation to anyone who grew up near an M&S food hall.

Shop more M&S in Canada or browse the full range of British biscuits available from The Great British Shop.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0520/2152/6714/files/marks-and-spencer-8-snowballs-164g.webp?v=1793546720
